The groundbreaking was on March 7th, but here’s a little more information about the project:
The Berkeley community is invited to celebrate the San Pablo Park Basketball Courts Renovation Project. The renovation, funded by Measure WW, will allow for new paving, drainage and re-surfacing; new basketball poles, rims, nets and backboards; new energy-efficient lighting; new fencing; and new benches.
Project funding is provided by a grant from the Measure WW bond measure, approved by Alameda and Contra Costa County voters in November, 2008, and a grant from the Community Development Block Grant program.
The basketball courts were dedicated to Mr. William “Bill” Rose in 1990. A new sign will be installed to commemorate the dedication.
