What a great workday on Saturday! Below is a note from the Berkeley Project coordinator and a picture of the crew that came out. Thanks to everyone who helped out, and in particular, thanks to Tania for coordinating!
The students did a wonderful job picking up litter and working on the planter strips (aka "hell strips"). About 8 or 9 strips got some intensive attention, with soil loosening, weeding, mulching, and/or planting. If your strip could use some love, don’t be shy! Let Tania know and she’ll make it happen at the next work day in the fall.

Lin and I wanted to thank you again on behalf of The Berkeley Project, our directors, and our volunteers, for giving us the opportunity to work with you at the CalJulia site this past Saturday! It was such a pleasure to meet the friendly neighbors and children, and engage in site beautification. We can’t thank you enough for the delicious snacks you provided, as well as your unending enthusiasm for continuing to partner with The Berkeley Project to give both our volunteers and the community-at-large a truly fulfilling experience in service.
On that note, I’ve attached a couple of pictures that we took after the project, and as always, please let me know if there is ever anything else I, Lin, or BP can ever help you out with!
