Sacramento Street Business/Property Owners and Residents,

In March 2013, the CalJulia Neighbors (California and Julia) met with City officials to discuss possible solutions to various neighborhood issues including storm water, pedestrian safety and business district improvements.

On May 31, 2013 there was a follow up meeting. Attendees included City Manager Christine Daniel, Charlene Washington-legislative aide to Councilmember Max Anderson, Economic Development Manager Michael Caplan, Phillip Anderson from HDR Remodeling and President of the Sacramento Street Merchant Association and Tania Carlone and Sofia Zander of the CalJulia Neighbors. The goal was discuss next steps to engage the stakeholders in and around the Sacramento Street commercial district.

The main outcome was to convene a stakeholder (businesses and residents) gathering in September to bring in additional stakeholders, clarify priority issue and begin development of an action plan for the Sacramento Street commercial district. From now to September, economic development staff will be meeting with individual stakeholder groups to provide smaller venues for discussion the result of which will be taken to the larger gathering.

We request your participation in this process and would like to ensure that your input is included. Please contact me at edgarcia to discuss and/or arrange a possible stakeholder meeting.

Thank you,

Elizabeth Garcia

Office of Economic Development
